MarLin Village is the first Tiny Home on Wheels neighborhood located in the southwest Colorado town of Bayfield near the banks of the Pine River. At an elevation of 6900’, Bayfield is a quiet agricultural community in the Pine River Valley. One of the magical parts of living on the edge of Bayfield is being able to stroll, bike, walk or take a short drive to nearly everything you need. Whether you crave local pizza, Mexican food, would like to sample the local brewery or maybe a more graceful set down dinner, these amenities are within a block of your MarLin Village Neighborhood.

Cofounders Mark & Linda owned this land for many years, but when they discovered tiny homes, they knew just what to do with it. It features 15 lots, great amenities, and a warm, welcoming vibe. Our Tiny Home Village is located on the southwestern edge of Bayfield near the banks of the Pine River and within walking distance of Historic Mill Street.

Historic Mill Street

Along Mill Street you will find Bayfields Museum, Restaurants, Shops, Gym, Parks, Professional Offices, Churches, and a Laundromat.

MarLin Village is minutes away from a Hardware and Grocery store, Library, Doctors offices, Pharmacy, Farmers Market and other favorite local businesses. Marlin Village is also only a 20 minute drive from our hospitals, Mercy Regional Medical Center and Rivergate Hospital.

Hiking

The Sauls Creek trail system is approximately 2 miles east of Bayfield for hiking, camping, horse back riding, mountain biking or just taking a quiet run with your dog. Here in the Four Corners we are blessed to have nearby the San Juan National Forest, Weminuche Wilderness, BLM and State Lands to enjoy and experience. 

Lakes and Skiing

Lakes and mountains to appreciate within a 40 minute drive include Vallecito, Lemon, Navajo and Lake Nighthorse which are great recreational sites for whatever your enjoyment may be… fishing, boating, paddle boarding, or just a stroll along the lake. If your passion is skiing or snowboarding, you are sure to enjoy Purgatory Mountain Resort and Wolf Creek Ski areas. 

Location

Bayfield is located 20 miles east of Durango, 50 miles west of Pagosa Springs, 10 miles north of Ignacio, and 67 miles from the historical town of Silverton.

Each one of these towns offer a variety of things and events to enjoy. Some of the amenities are hot springs, the Durango Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, shopping, camping, four wheeling, great dining, zip lining, rivers for lots of great fly fishing, and skiing in the winter, just to name a few.

The Tiny Home Neighborhood Spaces

MarLin Village tiny homes village offers 15 spaces, thirteen 25×40 and two 25×35 spaces to reside within the neighborhood. The spaces will have 30 amp, and 50 amp plug-in connectors, along with a
20 amp outlet. Some of the spaces have side parking and some have in front parking. You may choose the space of your choice on a first come basis. The spaces are $650.00 per month with a minimum one year lease. Electricity and high-speed internet shall be at the expense of the tenant. MarLin Village will be an owner occupied neighborhood and there cannot be any rentals nor VRBO’s.

Tiny Homes Neighborhood Amenities

  • The utilities included in the monthly rent are water, sewer, trash, recycling, and snow removal on the streets.
  •  Neighbors can enjoy and utilize quiet areas with benches overlooking the wetlands and the water way to help wind down from the day.
  • Apple, apricot, and peach trees to pick as you please.
  • You may choose to have a raised bed garden for those of you who like to eat what they grow.
  • A pavilion with a barbeque grill and tables to enjoy with your guests or just get to know and share a meal with someone in your neighborhood.

MarLin Village Tiny Home Village community members host a variety of community events. From art projects to campfire music and conversation to community yard sales and exchanges. When you live at MarLin Village, you will find a kind, engaged and diverse group of people who have chosen MarLin Village as home.

Additional Information

Storage

Storage units will be available for rent on site. We will have 16 units, four 4×4 at $28.00 per month and twelve 4×8 at $55.00 per month. You may also construct at your Tiny Home a storage unit with a maximum size of 8’ long, 2’ wide and 2’ deep and will need to match the décor of the Tiny Home.

Certification

In order to join MarLin Village Tiny Home Community, your Tiny Home will need to have been “third party inspected” and will need proof of a certificate or insignia.

 

MarLin Village will not be able to accept any of the alternative toilets other than the standard flushing toilets.
